The costs for CESL’s intensive English language program, the third oldest in the country, are quite affordable.

Tuition* (Full-time**) $2300.00

Student Health Center (Non-refundable) - On-campus clinic. Mandatory to all students. $115.00
Health insurance (Non-refundable) - Health care coverage outside the SIU campus. Mandatory unless the student demonstrates duplicate coverage.  $350.00
Oxford test (One-time fee for new student placement) $15.00
End of term TOEFL test (Required for EAP1, EAP2, and GSE students only) $50.00
Student Recreation Center (Fitness Center) (Non-refundable) $72.00
Legal services (Non-refundable) $3.00


* Self-funded applicants can also apply for the $500 CESL Language Diversity Scholarship.
** 
Part-time tuition is $115 per hour. Example: 5 hours a week for 1 term x $115 per hour = $575 per term (plus fees).

REFUNDS

Refunds will only be given if a student OFFICIALLY withdraws from CESL by the second Friday of the term. To officially withdraw a student must meet with their CESL advisor. If a student officially withdraws, he/she may receive a refund of tuition and activities fees ONLY. All other fees are non-refundable.
