CESL works closely with Office for Access & Accommodations to provide the required academic and programmatic support services to students with permanent and temporary disabilities; including but not limited to mobility impairments, hearing impairments, learning disabilities, and cognitive or psychological disorders. Disability services are located throughout the University in integrated settings. DSS provides centralized coordination and referral services.
Housing
Upon arrival, students will be assisted in making arrangements for living accommodations. Most students prefer to live in dormitories near campus. The approximate cost of room and board in dormitories is indicated under charges and costs.
Transportation
Carbondale is approximately 100 miles (160 km) southeast of St. Louis, Missouri and is easily accessible from the St. Louis Lambert International Airport. There is a private van service from St. Louis to Carbondale called BART Shuttle.
If your flight ends in Chicago's O'Hare Airport you can take a Blue Line Train to the Clinton Station in downtown Chicago. From there it is just a few blocks to Union Station where you can take Amtrak Train to downtown Carbondale.
